Multi-Probiotic® contains 40 potent strains of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Streptococcus cultures, including the clinically researched Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 that supports enhanced gastrointestinal and immune function.* Also included in the symbiotic blend, is scFOS® prebiotic fiber that is well tolerated and works synergistically with probiotics to flourish the intestinal tract. These Probiotics are acid and bile resistant and undergo a patented cyroprotectant stabilization process for shelf stability.

Multi-Probiotic formulas are tested for product potency and identity to ensure viability, effectiveness, and label claim verification for every product.

The microbiota of the human gastrointestinal tract plays a key role in nutrition and health. A delicate balance exists between the human intestinal microflora and its host. Upset of this community structure may promote undesirable conditions. Many different environmental factors may affect the gut microbial ecology; these include diet, medication, stress, age and general living conditions. It is therefore important that gut microflora interactions be optimized with probiotics and prebiotics.

Probiotics are supplemental live, beneficial intestinal micro-organisms for gastrointestinal health and immune support.* Probiotics have been shown to exert a beneficial support through modification of the immune system host via the gut environment. Clinical trials also suggest that the exposure to healthy microbes through the gastrointestinal tract powerfully shapes immune function.* Multiple studies have indicated that multi-strain probiotic blends with lactobacilli, bifidobacteria, and streptococcus can provide optimal support for a diverse range of health needs.*

Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 is featured in Multi-Probiotic and has been clinically shown in research to support the immune system by supporting the function of leucocytes in adults and the elderly.* It may also provide fetal immune support when consumed by pregnant mothers, according to one study. Clinical research also shows increased proportions of bifidobacterium and lactobacillus microflora in the human digestive tract after intake of B. lactis HN019. This strain may also help in the maintenance of bowel regularity and normal GI function.*

scFOS, also called short chain fructooligosaccharides, are prebiotics that have short molecular chains. They function as non-digestible fiber that can positively affect selected groups of beneficial intestinal microflora, such as lactobacillus. While probiotics merely add beneficial microflora, prebiotics influence the intestinal environment so that beneficial colonies of microflora can flourish. By aiding the beneficial microflora’s survival, less desirable microflora can have a decreased chance of survival.

When your immune system works properly, you rarely—if ever—get sick. And about 80% of your immune system resides in your digestive tract! It’s those trillions of healthy bacteria (also known as microflora or probiotics) living symbiotically in you that help eliminate the bad bacteria that are always trying to gain a foothold—the ones that cause all manner of disease and illness. Unfortunately, many common elements in life conspire to upset the balance between beneficial bacteria and harmful, unhealthy bacteria—stress, poor diet, excess sugar and simple carbs, alcohol use, antibiotic use…you name it! A simple daily dose of Multi-Probiotic can help rebalance and restore gut health and improve immune function.

Healthy bacteria are also needed to assist in the digestion and absorption of certain carbohydrates and minerals, in the production of vitamins, and in the protection of the delicate lining of your gut. Ironically, when you don’t absorb vitamins and minerals, you get hungry for more foods (the brain still senses the lack of these critical nutrients) so you tend to eat more than you should. Taking an effective probiotic like Multi-Probiotic can help restore that balance and improve digestion. In other words, healthy gut bacteria can actually assist in weight loss.

Most people don’t realize that natural regularity depends on the prevalence of good bacteria in the gut. In fact, the average stool should consist primarily of water (75%) and bacteria (both dead and living, and both healthy and unhealthy). Undigested food remnants should comprise very little of a healthy stool. That would be an indication that either you are eating the wrong foods or that your intestines are not digesting and/or absorbing nutrients efficiently. Sure, you can make yourself poop every day by taking a laxative or even using so-called healthy indigestible fibers, but that sort of “fake regularity” can cause more harm than good. Taking Multi-Probiotic can assist in creating a healthy bacterial balance that promotes the appropriate bacterial turnover and restores healthy regularity.

Many people think taking yogurt or kefir can adequately restock probiotics in the gut. However, because of the stringent laws involved in bringing processed milk products to market, many of the most popular brands of yogurt have very little actual live culture remaining by the time you ingest them. Moreover, many people are simply lactose intolerant and cannot capitalize on these food sources. Multi-Probiotic starts with 20 billion CFU (individual living colony-forming units) in each capsule and guarantees potency through date of expiration. Multi-Probiotic is more than 25 times as potent as an average serving of yogurt—and Multi-Probiotic has none of the calories, the lactose or other sugars.

Many common probiotic blends can’t survive the acidic environment of the stomach. That’s why some companies use “enteric coatings” or special treatments to keep the probiotics inside a waxy ball until after they’ve passed through the stomach. Perhaps you’ve heard that some probiotics also need to be refrigerated in order to remain “live.” In both cases, the main issue is that the strains they’ve chosen are not particularly hardy strains to begin with. In comparison, Multi-Probiotic uses acid- and bile-resistant strains that survive through stomach acid and need not be refrigerated (although you CAN store them in a refrigerator). These strains have been isolated over years of research to resist digestion and more effectively repopulate intestinal flora.
